Allergens and food safety

Please read this before ordering if you or anyone you're ordering for has a food allergy or intolerance.

Who provides allergen information

Every kitchen on PrepHub is an independent food business. Each kitchen lists the allergens in its own meals, covering the 14 major allergens: celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya, and sulphur dioxide/sulphites. The kitchen is responsible for this information being accurate.

Cross-contamination

Kitchens prepare many different meals, often in the same space and with the same equipment. Even where a meal doesn't contain an allergen, traces may be present. Unless a kitchen clearly says otherwise, we can't guarantee any meal is free from a particular allergen.

If you have an allergy

  • Check each meal's allergens before ordering, and the label on the meal when you receive it.
  • Record your allergies in your account, so the kitchens you order from can see them.
  • If you're unsure, or your allergy is severe, contact the kitchen before ordering. Their contact details are on their page.
  • Recipes can change. Check again each time you order, even meals you've had before.

Storing and reheating

Keep chilled meals in the fridge and eat them by the date the kitchen gives. Reheat until piping hot all the way through, and don't reheat more than once.

Reporting a problem

If you think you've had a reaction to a meal, seek medical help first. Then tell the kitchen and us at support@prephubuk.co.uk, so it can be looked into. You can also report food safety concerns to the local authority where the kitchen is based.
