Terms of Use
These terms cover using PrepHub to find local meal prep kitchens and order meals from them. Please read them before you order.
1. Who we are
PrepHub is run by Build Orbit Ltd (“PrepHub”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Scotland (number SC905496), registered office 18 Sauchie Crescent, Kinglassie, Lochgelly, Scotland, KY5 0YZ.
2. How PrepHub works
PrepHub is a platform. Each kitchen on PrepHub is an independent business that prepares, sells and hands over its own meals. When you place an order, your contract for the meals is with the kitchen, not with PrepHub. We provide the website, take care of your account and process payments on the kitchen's behalf.
Each kitchen is responsible for its menu, prices, food safety and hygiene, allergen information, and the quality and handover of its meals.
3. Your account
- You must be 16 or over to create an account and order.
- Keep your sign-in details private. You're responsible for orders placed through your account.
- Give accurate details, especially your address, phone number and any allergies.
- You can close your account at any time by contacting us. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
4. Ordering
- Kitchens publish weekly menus. Each menu has an order cut-off, shown on the kitchen's page and at checkout.
- Your order is accepted when you receive an order confirmation email. A kitchen may decline or cancel an order (for example, if an item becomes unavailable), in which case you'll get a full refund for anything you paid for it.
- Meal photos are for illustration; meals are freshly made and may vary slightly.
- Prices are set by the kitchen and shown in pounds sterling, including any delivery charge, before you pay.
5. Payment
- Card payments are processed securely by Stripe. PrepHub never sees or stores your full card details.
- Some kitchens accept cash on collection or delivery, where shown. Cash orders must be paid in full when you receive them.
- Meal plan bundles and discounts apply as described on the kitchen's page at the time you buy them.
6. Collection and delivery
- You choose collection from the kitchen or delivery (where the kitchen offers it) for each day you order.
- Please collect within the times shown, or be available to receive a delivery. Meals are perishable: if they can't be handed over because you weren't available, a refund isn't due.
- Store meals as the kitchen advises and eat them by the date given.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Meals are freshly prepared, perishable goods, so the usual 14-day right to cancel online purchases doesn't apply to them. Instead:
- Before the order cut-off: you can cancel and get a full refund.
- After the order cut-off: the kitchen has started buying and preparing your meals, so orders can't be cancelled or refunded, except as below.
- Problems with your meals (missing items, the wrong meal, or a quality problem): contact the kitchen as soon as possible, and within 24 hours of collection or delivery. The kitchen deals with these and decides on any refund or replacement. If you can't resolve it with the kitchen, contact us and we'll help.
Some kitchens set their own cancellation and refund terms. Where a kitchen's page shows different terms, those apply to orders from that kitchen. Refunds go back to the card you paid with and can take 5–10 working days to arrive. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including your right to food that is as described and of satisfactory quality.
8. Allergies
Allergen information is provided by each kitchen. Please read our allergens and food safety notice before ordering if you have an allergy or intolerance.
9. Reviews and messages
- Reviews must be your own honest experience of a real order. We may remove reviews or messages that are false, offensive, or break the law.
- Don't use PrepHub to harass kitchens or other people, or to send spam.
10. Our responsibility to you
- We work to keep PrepHub available and secure, but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Because kitchens are independent businesses, PrepHub isn't responsible for the meals themselves, which are the kitchen's responsibility. We are responsible for our own platform and for losses we cause that were foreseeable.
- We don't exclude or limit liability where the law doesn't allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Changes
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes to PrepHub or the law. The version shown when you place an order applies to that order. We'll tell you about significant changes.
12. Complaints and the law
For a problem with an order, contact the kitchen first (its details are on its page). For anything about PrepHub, contact us at support@prephubuk.co.uk.
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep any protections the law where you live gives you.
